Can you answer the call?

One Suit.  One Blouse.  One Financial Donation.  That's all it takes for a disadvantaged woman in Indianapolis to receive the support and opportunity she needs to start her journey towards self-sufficiency.

April 4-8, is the annual S.OS. -Send one Suit- Week campaign to support Dress for Success Indianapolis.  Burd Ford will be collecting suits, blouses and financial donations to benefit Dress for Success Indianapolis, a non-profit organization that provides women clothes, confidence and career development support.  This drive is sponsored locally by Classic Cleaners.  All donations are tax-deductible!

  • There's Power in the Suit:  We are looking for stylish, classy, professional suits and blouses (donated on hangers) that will empower a woman to stand tall and walk into her interview looking and feeling confident.  If you wonder if an item is appropriate to donate, ask yourself would you or a professional woman you know feel confident wearing the item -as is- to an interview?
  • There's Passion in Your Dollars:  Giving a financial contribution to Dress for Success Indianapolis reflects your passion for empowering women in our community to succeed.  This year Dress for Success Indianapolis will spend $25,000 supplementing inventory when donated items don't meet the needs of their clients.  You can ensure every woman receives a complete outfit, by giving $5 for a set of hosiery, $10 for a pair of shoes, $15 for a purse or $50 for a suit!
  • When to donate:  April 4-8th from 9am to 8pm
  • Where to donate:  Burd Ford 10320 E Pendleton Pike Indianapolis IN 46236
  • Classic Cleaners wants to thank every donor:  In addition to the warm, fuzzy feeling you'll get from supporting a woman in need when you donate, you'll receive a $10 Classic Cleaners Coupon that is good towards an order of $20 or more of dry cleaning!

Burd Ford launching Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt

(LAWRENCE) Burd Ford thinks you should have $3,000 in your pocket, or a new Apple iPad2™. Do we have your attention? Great! One of these prizes could be yours if you're selected as a winner in Burd Ford's Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt, which launches April 15.

"We wanted to create a fun event that people would be really excited about," said Christine Burd, owner. "And the cool thing is it's a contest evolving entirely on Twitter and Facebook." To be eligible, participants must "follow" Burd Ford via Twitter (@burdford), or "friend" Burd Ford on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ford.burd)

A kick-off event will be held Friday, April 15, 3:00-7:00PM, at Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company in Broad Ripple, when all registered participants will receive their required Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt game cards. Registration must be completed no later than midnight, Thursday, April 14. Contestants who complete a minimum 12 of 16 required tasks as outlined by contest sponsors are eligible for prizes. Clues to the location of these tasks will be sent via Facebook and Twitter only.

Joining Burd Ford as co-sponsors are Scotty's Brewhouse, Scotty's Lakehouse, Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co., Stephen Simpson Racing, Wheeltags, Ft. Benjamin YMCA, and the Salvation Army. Each sponsor will provide free offers and other incentives to contestants via mobile device text messaging. Tetherball, LLC, a Carmel-based marketing firm, is providing the RFID wireless text message technology.

"We really appreciate the involvement of our sponsors in the Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt," said Burd. "All are great community partners, and in the case of our not-for-profit friends, provide important social services to the community. They deserve our support."

Participation will require a simple "tap in" using the Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt card at participating locations. Look for the blue plastic Ford Mustang mounted on display boards where tap-ins will be recorded electronically. Participants will also be asked to perform simple tasks at each location such as taking a cellphone photo and posting it to Twitter or Facebook.

Contest winners will be selected and announced during a Cash Quest Scavenger Hunt final event at Burd Ford, 10320 E. Pendleton Pike, Friday, April 30, 2:00-3:00PM. Winners will be chosen using a blind draw from all qualified finalists. First prize is $3,000.00, second and third prizes are an Apple iPad2™.

"Burd loves Twitter and Facebook almost as much as we love our customers, friends and family," said Ginette Day, Burd Ford. "The scavenger hunt is just one more fun way we can connect with people and share exciting news about Burd Ford. Oh, and we love giving away prizes too!" Day added.
