Ford 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Wins Play Car of the Year

The 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has been chosen by Cars.com to be “Play Car of the Year.” Cars.com editors say, “Everything you like about the Mustang GT – the power, the sound and the attitude—has been enhanced in the Boss 302.”

The Mustang Boss 302 has been absent in the Ford lineup since the 1969 model of the same name. It is a completely re-designed and re-engineered Mustang that drives like a racecar but runs on the street. It boasts a 5.0-liter 444-horsepower Hi-Po 302 4V Ti-VCT V8 engine that is capable of 7,500 rpm. It also features a short-throw six-speed manual transmission, Brembo front calipers and rotors, a 3.63:1 limited-slip rear axle, unique quad exhaust, and 4-gauge instrument cluster. The Boss arrives from the factor with adjustable shocks, struts, and steering system for the ultimate customized performance ride. Cars.com also suggests, “The available Recaro-brand front bucket seats are supportive enough for track work yet comfortable enough for commuting.”
