About Burd Ford

Burd Ford is a family owned and operated business and we want our employees and customers to genuinely feel and become a part of this family. The mission of Burd Ford is to offer a service and sales experience unmatched by any other in our industry, guided by principals that positively reflect our strong family values and morals; to serve not only our customers but our community in the same manner and fashion you would treat anyone in your family.

For more than 20 years, Burd Ford has had a presence in Lawrence Township acquiring the Ford franchise in 2000. Since inception, Burd Ford has been honored several times by Ford Motor Company for its outstanding service and sales.

Richard A. Burd

On November 10, 2009, Lawrence Township and central Indiana lost one of its most prominent business owners and community servants. The passing of Richard A. Burd, 43, was a sad reminder of life's fragility, and it left a large void in many hearts.

His devotion to wife Christine and their four children was deep and unwavering, and Rich's warm smile and ready laugh are sorely missed. The Burd family has been profoundly touched by the condolences and gestures of support that they continue to receive.

After Rich's death, Christine sat down with her family to discuss their future. Should the dealership remain open? What should be the next steps for Burd Ford, Inc.? Without hesitation, the children urged Chris to continue operating the store in the manner that customers and the Ford Motor Company have come to appreciate.

Thus, Burd Ford continues as a valuable corporate citizen in Lawrence by providing philanthropic underwriting of education and youth athletics initiatives, and by maintaining the highest standards of customer service and product support.

"It's exactly what Rich would want us to do," said Christine. "He cared deeply for the good people of Lawrence and Indianapolis, and our family is humbled and honored to continue his legacy."

2010 marks the tenth anniversary of Burd Ford's relocation to its state-of-the-art dealership at 10320 E. Pendleton Pike. Rich is deeply missed, but Chris, Catherine, Nick, Jack and Cyd are comforted knowing that his dream of owning and operating an automotive dealership was accomplished, and that it will continue for many years to come. Thank you for your business, and please let us know how we can best serve your automotive needs.
